Interior designer David Thulstrup founded his eponymous studio in 2009 after working in Paris with French architect Jean Nouvel and for the architect Peter Marino in New York. In both cases he was responsible for the concept development of various residential, commercial, cultural and leisure projects. Since returning to Denmark, Thulstrup has developed an uncompromising and minimalist style with his team.
Design and art, along with solutions and aesthetics, harmoniously meet in order to strengthen and intensify spatial experience, corporate identity and brand awareness. This becomes apparent in the studio’s work in private residences in Islands Brygge and Krøyers Plads, the beauty salon Blow in Copenhagen, and several other retail concepts for clients such as Georg Jensen and J. Lindeberg. The firm undertakes a wide range of international projects for private and professional clients and is primarily focused on fashion retail and residences. In the spaces it creates, Studio David Thulstrup focuses on refined design details and rethinks materials away from their conventional form and use.
Thanks to their complementary experiences and expertise, the members of Studio David Thulstrup make up an international team with strong creative drive. Through cultural exchanges, experimentation and multiple partnerships, the firm develops customised furniture and materials which create a unique design for its clients.
