Atlein is a destination, a place for research and independence. Such a statement provides a first clue as to the identity of the brand recently founded by Antonin Tron. For his first collections, Antonin radically committed to the sole use of jersey. He was rewarded for his boldness, taking home the first collection prize at the 2016 ANDAM Fashion Awards. For his Autumn-Winter 2017-2018 Collection, Atlein stages his first runway in Paris, at Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery.
Atlein’s collections are made entirely of jersey, a material allowing Antonin Tron to design sporty, sensual, feminine pieces thanks to the inherent movement they have been given. All of the pieces – dresses, tops and skirts – are made in France and defined by sharp cuts, structured drapes and elaborate pleats. The graphic application of top-stitches on hips, shoulders and waist strengthens the construction of each garment. The designer, citing British designer Jean Muir as an inspiration for his collection, has also been heavily marked by nature.
Antonin Tron enjoys being outdoors and spends his free time surfing. He says he loves boxing and yoga. This connection to the physical world is pervasive in his work. The structure of his pieces and the way in which they conform to the body translate a tactile sensuality focused on physical reality and tension. With Atlein, Antonin Tron is offering a new proposition based on quality, comfort and authenticity. Shaped by subcultures, off-road travels, new technologies, independent music and contemporary art, Tron’s research is drawn to singularity.
